I'm about to lose my mind driving around Sharjah in this heat with a 2016 Patrol that decided last week to start blowing lukewarm air instead of cold. Took it to a random garage near King Faisal Street and they topped up the gas but it lasted maybe three days before going warm again, so I'm guessing there's a leak somewhere or the compressor is acting up. I don't mind paying for a proper diagnosis, just don't want to keep coming back every week. Appreciate any recommendations.

Three days before it went warm again after a top-up is a pretty strong sign there's an actual leak somewhere they never bothered to look for, not just low refrigerant from wear over time. Push for proper leak testing this time before anyone touches the gas again.

Industrial Area is definitely mixed, some shops are honest and thorough and others will try to upsell a whole system when it's actually just a small fitting leak. Worth calling around and asking specifically if they do UV dye or electronic leak detection before committing to anyone.

Had almost the same issue on my Patrol, random garage topped it up and it came right back within a week too. Ended up being a small leak at a hose fitting that a proper diagnostic caught quickly, nothing close to needing a whole new system like some places try to claim.

The compressor could still be a factor but honestly a leak is way more likely given how quickly it went warm again after the topup. Any shop that jumps straight to "you need a new compressor" without actually testing for leaks first is probably just guessing and padding the bill.

Good instinct wanting proper diagnosis instead of another quick topup, that's clearly not solving anything long term. Ask whoever you go with to show you where the leak actually is before agreeing to any repair, keeps them honest and you get to actually see what's wrong instead of just taking their word for it.
