Range Rover Sport brake wear in Dubai traffic is something else entirely

oliviajohnson

Moved here from the UK about a year ago with our 2017 Range Rover Sport and I've noticed the brake pads seem to be disappearing at a rate I was absolutely not prepared for maybe it's the extra weight of the car combined with the stop start nature of Sheikh Zayed Road at rush hour but I'm pretty sure I've gone through a set of fronts in under twenty thousand kilometers which just feels excessive. The car's got the big six piston Brembos up front and they stop this heavy thing with authority no complaints there but the dust is relentless and the last time I had them done at the dealer in Festival City the bill was frankly insulting for what amounts to some pads and a sensor reset. A chap I work with who has a Discovery mentioned he found a decent independent place that knows these JLR products inside out and he just pulled up something on his phone like www.brakepadreplacementdubai.ae/brands/land-rover-brake-pad-replacement which he swears saved him a small fortune compared to the main agent quote. I'm just wondering if anyone else with a full size Rangie or a Sport has found a particular brand of pad that holds up better to the heat cycling we get here without squealing like a stuck pig or chewing up the rotors prematurely because I'm honestly tired of seeing that brake wear warning pop up on the dash every six months like clockwork.
