High-tier Pit runs expose weaknesses that a character sheet cannot show. Diablo 4 Items should help the Necromancer enter safely, group enemies, prepare Essence, create Desecrated Ground, and survive until the damage-over-time effect finishes its work.
Phase One: Approach the Pack
Use your mobility skill to reach a dense group, but do not spend Bone Spirit on scattered enemies unless the situation requires it. Keep Bone Storm available for elite packs and dangerous enemy abilities. The first objective is to create a stable area for the main cast.
Phase Two: Establish Control
Place Bone Prison around the strongest part of the group. Apply Decrepify and Iron Maiden before committing the attack. Path of Trag'Oul makes this step more valuable by enlarging the prison and adding Bone Splinters that support Maximum Essence when they hit targets.
Phase Three: Activate the Resource Window
Use the Golem active ability when its Unstoppable utility is needed. Skeletal Mages continue supporting Essence while the Necromancer prepares Bone Spirit. If the build uses Tibault's Will, coordinate its resource effect with this Unstoppable window.
Phase Four: Create the Damage Field
Cast Bone Spirit while Essence is high and enemies remain inside Bone Prison. Keep the casts concentrated in one area so Desecrated Ground can apply its damage over time without being scattered across the room.

Phase Five: Reset the Fight
1. Finish weak survivors without spending the next full cast.
2. Move toward the next dense group with Sever or another mobility skill.
3. Check Bone Prison, Golem, Bone Storm, and curse availability.
4. Refill Essence before starting the next damage window.
Boss encounters reward patience. Place the prison after a leap, teleport, or charge, then fire Bone Spirit when the target is likely to remain in the area. Survival is more valuable than a short close-range burst when pushing a difficult Pit tier.
When reviewing d4 gear for sale, compare each item with the combat phase it should improve. Maximum Essence strengthens the damage window, Cooldown Reduction supports control, and defensive affixes protect the reset period.
Run three attempts at the same Pit level, identify the phase that fails first, and change only the gear or skill choice connected to that phase.
