WHY ARE CASINO DEALER TIPS CALLED 'TOKES?

Krystal Lee

Fun fact: If you want to fit in when you visit Las Vegas and play live baccarat, it's important to understand the lingo. One term you need to know is "toking," which means tipping. Tipping dealers is a great way to thank them for their service and ensure they watch your bets. "Tokes" is shorthand for "tokens of appreciation," which is why the term is used. So, be sure to tip generously when you're in Vegas, and everywhere else for that matter! Sharing is caring! hahaha

Now you know! Thanks to my friend who told me this. Hahaha.

That's right, it's always a good idea to show our appreciation to the dealers when playing live baccarat in Las Vegas. Generously tipping them, also known as "toking," not only enhances our casino experience but also ensures that they pay close attention to our bets .... but even before, I always gave a tip to the dealers, because they deserve it

HAHAHA And when someone asks if you want to go sightseeing, just say "Nah, I prefer chasing leprechauns down the strip!" They'll think you're a true local! Sharing is caring, but in Vegas, it's all about sharing your winnings! Hahaha, have a blast!

Absolutely! This is especially true when it comes to the gaming industry.  The custom of tipping a casino dealer with a token or toke dates back to the early days of gaming, when tokens were used to reward dealers for their services. In addition, many casinos have a policy that requires players to tip their dealers with tokens rather than with cash. This is to protect the casino's integrity and to ensure that all dealers are treated fairly. Tokens are also used to ensure that all players are able to show their appreciation for their dealers' services. All in all, tokes are an important part of the gaming culture and have been around for many years.
