Why MLB The Show 26 Mini Seasons Changed | U4GM

Andrew736

MLB The Show 26 gets patch 1.012 in the early hours of June 16, and most players will be watching Diamond Dynasty first, not the tiny menu fixes. The big talking point is WBC Mini Seasons, where the Championship rewards are being brought back after a messy late-May removal. If you've been saving MLB 26 stubs or grinding through Mini Seasons for packs, this update actually matters because the reward path should feel normal again instead of ending with that awkward one-Stub placeholder.

WBC Mini Seasons rewards are coming back

The WBC Mini Seasons Championship bundle is set to return after a content update around noon PT, which is 3 PM ET, on June 16. That's the fix players have been waiting for. Sony had pulled the bundle because some users found a way to keep simulating the Championship Game and collecting rewards without properly replaying the full route. It wasn't a small loophole either. Once people noticed it, the mode had to be locked down fast. Patch 1.012 closes that exploit, so players should need to progress through the earlier games again before getting another shot at the Championship payout.

There's more going on in Mini Seasons than the WBC reward fix. Logos should display correctly when you pick a specific game, which sounds minor until you're in the menus every night and something looks broken. The playoff screen is getting a proper series-record display too. That's the kind of change people won't shout about, but you'll notice it right away. It makes the mode easier to follow, especially when you're moving through a tight playoff run and don't want to guess where the series stands.

  • Exhibition Daily Lineups should now show missing pitching decisions properly.
  • Daily log-in reward timers should no longer appear ahead of schedule.
  • Depth of Field settings on Xbox should display the right way.
  • Orioles and Red Sox uniforms should appear correctly in Diamond Quest, Moments, Conquest, and Play vs CPU.
Xbox players get Weekend Classic compensation

Xbox users are also getting a separate make-good because of a server issue that kept some players from logging in during Weekend Classic. The bonus depends on where a player was ranked in the most recent Weekend Classic. Players from 0 to 499 receive five MLB The Show 26 packs. From 500 to 699, it jumps to 20 packs. The 700 to 799 group gets a No-Sell Weekend Classic pack with 96 OVR Figgins or Crow-Armstrong. Anyone at 800 or higher receives a Weekend Classic pack. That's a decent spread, and it avoids giving the same reward to someone who barely entered and someone who pushed hard for a high rank.

Likeness updates and what players should check

Patch 1.012 also refreshes player likenesses for a long list of names, including Roman Anthony, Chase Burns, Gerrit Cole, Paul Goldschmidt, Heliot Ramos, Christian Walker, and Trey Yesavage. It's not the flashiest part of the update, but roster presentation matters in a game people stare at for months. Once the servers settle, it's worth checking WBC Mini Seasons, your Weekend Classic grant if you're on Xbox, and any affected uniforms before jumping back into the grind. Players who plan to buy MLB 26 stubs may also want to wait until the Championship bundle is live again, just so they know exactly what rewards are back in rotation.

MLB The Show 26's June 16 update brings back WBC Mini Seasons Championship rewards, fixes Daily Lineups, uniforms, Xbox depth of field, and Weekend Classic bonuses.
